About the Role
A leading national provider of specialist equipment to the construction and infrastructure sectors is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Engineer to join their service team. This is a field-based role, attending customer sites to carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery and associated equipment.
This position offers the opportunity to work independently, supporting a diverse customer base while being backed by a trusted depot network and technical support team.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out on-site repairs, servicing, and diagnostics on a range of construction plant equipment

Respond to breakdowns promptly and professionally, minimising downtime for the customer

Complete inspections and scheduled maintenance in line with company and manufacturer standards

Accurately record all service activities, parts used, and job completion details

Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures

Maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle and manage parts and tools effectively

Liaise with the depot and customers to provide updates and support excellent customer service

Adhere to health and safety practices and wear appropriate PPE at all times
About You:

Proven experience maintaining and repairing plant, HGV, agricultural, or similar heavy equipment

Strong diagnostic skills with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to fieldwork

Full UK driving licence (essential)

Strong communication skills and customer service focus

Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and prioritise jobs effectively
